ABRAHAM LINCOLN


Abraham Lincoln was the first President to wear a beard. He did this on the request of a twelve year old girl who wrote him a letter saying that he look better when he wears a beard. He was born in Hodgenville, Kentucky. He was the only president to be born outside the original thirteen states. Lincoln loved the home made pies i.e.. apples . The ladies of New Salen, Illanois mailed him frequently the pies when he lived at the White House. He was the first President to announce the Thanksgiving Day as a National holiday.

In 1990 many people in U.S. treasured the hair of their loved ones. It was saved in lockets, watch fobs. In Africa the woman tribes wears a hair style in which a way to show her status. It denotes whether she is married, a m other, a mother of twins or a widow. The ancient Egyptians thought that their hair was ugly and shaves their scalps amd wore elaborate wigs. Popcorn aids in digestion. Bread crusts have more fiber than the rest of the loaf and it also aids in digestion. Parsley is a natural breath freshner. Tea is used to protect the teeth from decay.
