Democracy involves the selection of government officials who are elected by the people with a majority number of votes.Representatives become diplomatic representatives for a particular district.Some representative democracies also involve the elements of direct democracy, such as referendums. The representatives are elected by the people to act in their interest. They retain the freedom to exercise their own judgment to the people.
